Putty Fire Advice 5 Sep 2023

ADVICE – An incident has started. No immediate danger

Situation: A lot of smoke can be seen at Putty between Lilavale Track and 695 Putty Valley Road but the fire is under control. Several fire brigades are attending.

In case the situation changes quickly
Stay up to date: check emails, texts, Putty Alerts and Facebook Putty Valley Chronicles and Fires Near Me
     Turn on UHF and radio
Monitor weather forecasts as well as conditions in your area

Prepare your property to reduce the threat (PED page 16-27). If not in Putty don’t leave preparations to the last minute – there may be no access.

Notes: Preparing for an emergency event early rather than at the last minute results in better outcomes and less stress during an event.

Putty residents are reminded that the onus is on you to check your communications regularly, to tune into emergency broadcasts and to prepare your property.

  1. Thank you for this alert.
I am very concerned about the roadside fire hazard dry grass on Council’s verge near my yards and house is causing to my property.
