Putty Hall
The upgrade works to the hall have been completed with the exception of the final connection and adjustments to the hall circuits for the solar system, which is programmed to be carried out in the next couple of weeks.
Putty Valley Road Update
Putty Valley Road has now been sealed up to just before Gibbs Bridge and guard rails placed on the creek side where there is a steep drop off. There are still areas on the high side of the road where there are deep gutter drains, so caution is still needed, particularly where the road is narrow.
This can be evidenced by a recent incident where a vehicle went off the sealed surface on the high side of the road and rolled, necessitating the assistance of the ambulance, helicopter and police. Luckily nobody was seriously injured.
The new creek crossings to the northern end of the road (from Gibbs Bridge to the Old Mill) have been installed with the outstanding work being the concrete headwalls to the crossing at approximately 20.6 kilometres. The condition of the road north of Gibbs Bridge has suffered from the passage of the many heavy vehicles needed to carry out this work and now has substantial potholes along its length to the extent that the truck drivers have refused to make further deliveries of road materials to this section. Council has been approached to repair this damage.
