Warragamba Dam spilled over early this morning due to heavy rain in the catchment last night. More rainfall is forecast for the area but the rain is mostly to the south of Putty and is moving south so no indication of flooding in Putty.

Moderate rainfall totals of up to 147 mm have been observed across the Hawkesbury Nepean Valley in the 24 hours to 5:00 am Friday. Further heavy rainfall is forecast for the remainder of Friday. Minor flooding is now occurring at Menangle. Moderate flooding is likely at Menangle during Friday morning and possible at North Richmond and Windsor from overnight Friday. Minor flooding may occur at Camden Weir from late Friday morning and at Wallacia Weir from Friday evening. Minor flooding is likely at Penrith around midday Friday.
A Severe Weather Warning is current for heavy rainfall in parts of the Hawkesbury Nepean Valley.
A Flood Watch is current for moderate flooding across the Hawkesbury Nepean Valley.
Upper Nepean River:
Moderate flooding is likely along the Upper Nepean River.
The Nepean River at Menangle Bridge is currently at 7.28 metres and rising, above the minor flood level (5.20m). The Nepean River at Menangle Bridge is likely to reach the moderate flood level (9.20 m) during Friday morning. The river level may reach around 10.00 metres midday Friday.
The Nepean River at Camden Weir may reach the minor flood level (6.80 m) late Friday morning.
The Nepean River at Wallacia Weir may reach the minor flood level (5.00 m) Friday evening.
Hawkesbury and Lower Nepean River:
Minor to moderate flooding may occur along the Hawkesbury and Lower Nepean Rivers.
The Nepean River at Penrith is likely to reach the minor flood level (3.90 m) around midday Friday.
The Hawkesbury River at North Richmond (WPS) is likely to exceed the minor flood level (3.80 m) around midday Friday. The river level may reach the moderate flood level (7.90 m) overnight Friday into Saturday.
The Hawkesbury River at Windsor (WPS) is likely to reach the minor flood level (5.80 m) Friday evening. The river level may reach the moderate flood level (7.00 m) Saturday morning.
