Escaped Burns Spark Warning on Safe Burning Practices
The RFS is reminding landholders to follow safe burning practices and ensure they notify their local fire authority and neighbours, after 30 escaped burns were reported across NSW in April – including a dozen over the Easter long weekend.
Putty Power
The power came back on at Putty on Saturday 18 January at 6.30pm. You may be able to make a claim for food spoilage, electrical appliance damage or other reasons. Check the information on Ausgrid’s Make a Claim page to determine if you can claim for damage or loss you may have experienced.
Power Outages and what to do
The power has been out at Putty since 8.30pm on Wednesday 14 January due to storms and Ausgrid has no restore time. This is not just a local issue as power is out in areas of The Hunter and Sydney. See Ausgrid’s Power update.
Fire Advice
Several fires have been started by lightning strikes in the Putty area over the last couple of days. Fires still burning are at Garland Valley, Howes Valley and Putty Valley Road 3km north of Gibbs Bridge.
