The officer issuing your permit will explain its conditions including that you must give a minimum of 24 hours notice before lighting a fire to:
~~ Your Neighbours, including National Parks if next door
~~ Register your burns with NSW RFS
No fires in the open during a Total Fire Ban. You will be fined.
As of 1st OCTOBER 2024, you will require a fire permit for any burning within the NSW Rural Fire Service – Hunter Valley District. Please see the video for instruction on how to apply for a fire permit online.
Non-Bush Fire Danger Period
From 1 April to 31 August – Landowners do not require a Permit to Burn except in the case of a Hazard Reduction.
You must give a minimum of 24 hours notice before lighting a fire to:
~~ Your Neighbours, including National Parks if next door
~~ Bulga Fire Control Centre: Phone 65751200 or Register your burns with NSW RFS online
~~Putty Fire Brigade, phone the Captain 0401 535 575
Notification is necessary in case
- The well-intended fire escapes containment lines and requires the attendance of a fire truck/s.
- Help reduce unnecessary emergency calls
